Meet Sam who is a patient of Dr Elaine’s and works with Drug Arm. He said that the homeless people he works with often ask for oral hygiene items. We were pleased to be able to help by donating toothbrushes and toothpaste in a zip lock toiletry bag. Senior dental assistant Karen baked some goodies to donate too. Sam said they were very much appreciated.
Dental Assistant Alice is now Dr Alice!
We are very proud of Alice. She started working with us as a dental assistant in 2008. We saw her graduate from high school then embark on years of study at University. During this time she continued to work on a casual basis for Richmond Road Dental. Last year she graduated from Dentistry with first class honours. Well done Dr Alice! Her first role as a fully qualified Dentist was volunteering in Cambodia which is where this photo was taken. We wish Alice the best of luck in her future career and hopefully
one day we will see her back here at Richmond Road Dental.
Richmond Road Dental Donates to Hepatitis Queensland
Last year with the help of GSK and Erskine Dental we were able to help Nicki from Hepatitis Queensland to supply Brisbane’s homeless with toothbrushes and toothpaste.
Dr Elaine Completes 88km Run!
We are very proud of Dr Elaine who recently ran the Comrades Marathon in South Africa. The race was run from Durban to Pietermaritzburg, a distance of 88 km. Elaine finished the race in 10 hours and 24 minutes in unusually warm conditions.
The top temperature on the day reached 32 degrees. She came 4,890th out of about 17,000 starters. She said the atmosphere was electric and she survived the experience with the help of spectators who cheered the runners on and also gave out salted boiled potatoes. (She says she can’t look at boiled potatoes now.) Well done Dr Elaine!
