Snoring Devices
Snoring during sleep is a result of narrowing of the upper airway due to your muscles relaxing and the soft tissues in your throat sagging.
A custom made dental device worn at night that moves the lower jaw into a forward position, increases the three dimensional space in the airway, increasing the capacity of the airway and can help prevent soft tissue vibrations. A consultation with one of our dentists is recommended to see if this type of treatment will be of benefit to you.
Splints
An occlusal splint may be recommended by your dentist to protect the teeth and jaw joints from excessive clenching or grinding of the teeth (bruxism). Bruxism can cause headaches, pain in the jaw, lead to excessive wear or fracture of the teeth and may cause permanent damage to teeth and jaw joints.
