Protect your teeth with these pro tips for healthy drink choices from the Australian Dental Association and Indigenous Dentists’ Association of Australia.

  • Keep your family’s teeth healthy. Choose to drink water. It’s good for your teeth and for your body.
  • Ditch the sugary drinks. Sugary drinks rot your teeth and increase the risk of you getting diabetes.
  • Sugary drinks include sports and energy drinks, cordial, soft drinks and fruit juice.
  • Do not put the sugary drinks in your baby’s bottle. Water and milk will help them to grow up to be strong and healthy.
  • Drink water when playing sport or exercising. It will help you to stay hydrated and fuel your body.
  • If you feel like a sugary drink, instead eat some fruit and drink water. This will fill you up, keep you healthy and is better for your teeth.
  • To protect your teeth, brush them twice per day with a fluoride toothpaste.
  • And visit the dentist regularly to prevent problems and keep on smiling.
